while i was waiting for bus 154 near joo chiat complex just now..
i saw this really irresponsible bus driver.
he stopped at the bus stop for no reason whatsoever, and went to the indian coffee shop nearby to buy something.
it took about like.. 5minutes, which is very long, if anyone was rushing for time and was in that bus.
worse, you could see the clueless looks on the passengers in it.
although i wasn't on the bus, it was like "wth".
i mean.. it's quite obvious that he went to the coffee shop for personal reasons and that was bad.
he's working... as a BUS DRIVER. and abandoning his bus on the road for as short as 5 minutes can cause a pile-up.
in the 5 min that he was gone, two buses came and were stuck behind him.
and cuz of the heavy morning traffic, those two buses couldn't just switch lanes, but instead had to wait for him to get back!
not only did he inconvenience passengers on HIS bus, it was an annoyance to passengers on the other two buses as well.

but this aside, a really weird gush of appreciation towards bus drivers hit me when i was on the bus.
i mean.. to maneuver a relatively gigantic vehicle with so many passengers in it with such confidence must take a hell lot of courage.
the passengers on the bus rely on the drivers to like get them safely and timely to their destination.
they actually play rather important roles in our lives and yet are so often slighted.
oh wells...

hmm.
i can't believe i just dedicated one post to bus drivers.
my brain must be getting fried.
and I must going crazy SLACKING.
bah!
